Before You Register
The Bridal Registry at The Gift Shop is your local destination for heirloom china and everyday essentials.
Do I need an appointment?
Appointments are not required, but we highly recommend scheduling one for the best experience. Our team tailors each registry appointment to your personal style, entertaining preferences, and wishlist, allowing plenty of time to explore our collections, ask questions, and create a registry you'll cherish. Reserving a time allows us to give you 1:1 attention without having to wait for a store associate to assist you.
When should I register?
The sooner the better! We recommend registering at least two months before your first shower or bridal celebration. This allows us time to bring in any special-order pieces and ensure your registry is beautifully stocked before your guests begin selecting gifts.
How do I receive gifts?
We make receiving your gifts easy, whether you're local or planning your wedding from out of town. You'll be notified by text, email, or phone whenever your gifts are ready for pickup at the store.
Every bridal registry purchase includes our complimentary signature gift wrapping. If you prefer certain gifts to remain unwrapped for a display shower, simply let us know, and we'll be happy to accommodate your request.
If your bridal shower is being hosted locally, we're happy to coordinate directly with your hostess to arrange pickup before your celebration. If shipping is needed for your gifts, please contact us in advance so we can discuss the available options and any applicable shipping charges.
What if I register for something special order?
A special order item is any registry item that is not currently in stock at the time it is purchased or an item that requires customization, such as monogramming.
When a guest purchases one of these items, you'll receive a beautifully wrapped gift voucher to open at your shower. The voucher will indicate which gift was purchased and who it was from, allowing you to celebrate the gift even before the item arrives. We also keep a record of every gift voucher you receive, so there's no need to save or bring them back to redeem.
For custom pieces, such as monogrammed china, the gift voucher allows all matching pieces to be personalized together once your collection is complete. Rather than monogramming plates one at a time, we'll wait until you're ready to redeem your vouchers so every piece can be customized as a matching set. The price of your gift includes the monogramming.
When you're ready, simply let us know which vouchers you'd like to redeem. We'll apply the funds to your registry account and place your special order. You're welcome to redeem vouchers before your wedding if you'd like certain items sooner—we're happy to order them whenever you're ready.
We ask that all gift vouchers be redeemed within six weeks of your wedding date. This allows us to place your special orders in a timely manner and ensures you can begin enjoying your gifts as soon as possible. Special order items will not be ordered until you request redemption.
Am I able to register for items from brands you carry that are not on your website?
Absolutely. We wish we had the shelf space to carry every piece by our beloved brands. If you are interested in us special ordering please contact us as soon as possible so that we may look into options for you.
What if I need to edit my registry?
We're always happy to help you update your bridal registry. You can add or remove items at any time, with the exception of special-order or personalized pieces. Simply make changes directly through your MyRegistry log in or email us at bridal@giftshopthomasville.com, and our team will be happy to assist.

Mollie joined The Gift Shop in the fall of 2024, bringing with her a love for Southern hospitality, beautiful homes, and meaningful celebrations. With a background in education, marketing, sales, and purchasing, she enjoys helping couples create a registry that reflects both their style and the life they're building together.
Her favorite part of the process is getting to know each couple and forming lasting relationships with the families she serves.
If there's one thing to know about Mollie, it's that she truly loves china. Her own collection includes four everyday patterns, three complete fine china collections, and a cherished Christmas pattern—with plans to keep adding to them for years to come. While she admires many beautiful designs, the pattern closest to her heart is the one passed down from her grandmother. She also has a special place for timeless classics, including Wedgwood Sterling Platinum—the very pattern she registered for as a bride.
Mollie believes the most beautiful tables tell a story. She loves mixing and matching patterns, layering heirloom pieces with new favorites, and helping each bride create a collection that feels uniquely her own—one she'll enjoy for holidays, celebrations, and everyday moments for years to come.
Fun Fact: Mollie recently hosted her son's wedding at her home, transforming it into a true Southern garden celebration. One of her favorite memories was sharing a mother-son dance to My Wish by Rascal Flatts.
